Depth Chart Released

OSU has published its game notes for this week. The starting lineup has Beanie Wells listed as the first string tailback. Hopefully, that indicates Wells foot injury is healing nicely, although an Ohio State spokesman told reporters today that she was unsure how conclusive results of an MRI were. Boom Herron would get the start if Beanie cannot go, and because both players names are in captial letters there does seem to be some question as to Beanie's availability.

For the second week in a row, it looks like Nader Abdallah starts ahead of Doug Worthington on the defensive line. Worthington sat out all but eight snaps of the game against Youngstown State, presumably as punishment for his arrest on DUI charges during the offseason. Again, both players names are in capital letters, so this could be a toss up as well.

And Kurt Coleman, despite spraining his ankle last week, is named as the starting strong safety. Jermale Hines is his backup. This also comes with the caveat that Hines' name is in all capitals.

But Coleman's ankle injury never seemed all that serious. Tressel said he believed Coleman rolled it on Monday, but failed to mention it at his Tuesday press luncheon. At that same press conference, he said the team was in "pretty good health," listing only offensive lineman Kyle Mitchum as a player who wouldn't "make the bell." On Thursday, he was still saying it was possible Coleman could play against Youngstown State.

Now it's possible that Tressel will amend the depth chart when he next speaks to the media, so keep this page bookmarked, and we'll keep you in the loop!
